Firefighters in action
Community Fire Protection
We are first and foremost Firefighters. Fire protection in Oak Bay has been performed since 1938 by Oak Bay Firefighters. Previous to that the City of Victoria protected Oak Bay Residents. In 1969 we formed IAFF local 1856 and have run a career department ever since.
Honour Guard
Our team runs the Honour Guard upholding traditions, service, dedication and professionalism of the fire service.
Fundraising is our passion
We host annual charity events, like the Christmas tree recycle above and community fund raising for purchase of vital equipment at the NICU and other charities that count on our assistance to fulfil their sponsorship and stewardship in the community.
Youth Programs
Our members dedicate countless hours volunteering, always ready to support future Oak Bay firefighters, this is camp ignite with one of our members/mentors Andy.
